Forest fires are among the primary areas of focus that require the generation of scientific knowledge and the creation of innovative nature conservation approaches on a societal scale for countries in the Mediterranean Basin. In today’s world, where human-forest interaction is changing and the global climate crisis is intensifying, forest fires are causing devastating ecological and sociological crises. As the Eastern Mediterranean, operating in Antalya province in Turkey, where the highest number of forest fires occur, we prioritize forest fires as one of our main areas of focus due to directly experiencing the ecological and sociological crises they cause.
