Citizen science expands the data collection field by providing individuals with the opportunity to contribute to scientific research and promotes inclusivity in engaging in the scientific process to enhance scientific literacy in society. The Eastern Mediterranean values the widespread dissemination of scientific thought and knowledge through broad societal participation. In this regard, citizen science initiatives are conducted to bridge the gap between scientists and the public and to increase scientific literacy through a collective effort.
