Let Correct Information Spread Faster: Communication Workshops for Forest Fires

Project Summary:

With the development of new media tools, an increasing sensitivity towards forest fires is observed in society. However, the lack of a common discourse based on scientific data and the prevalence of misinformation in the public domain have led to the misdirection of societal expectations and pressures. To address the observed confusion and lack of awareness regarding forest fires and their aftermath, a common communication strategy needs to be designed. This strategy requires realistic planning and the participation of stakeholders for a multi-faceted and multi-stakeholder phenomenon. In this regard, online workshop series are being organized to develop a common communication strategy with the participation of stakeholders. Within the project scope, stakeholders with relevant experience will be identified to establish a common discourse and principles. As a result of these efforts, a communication strategy plan will be prepared and implemented to outline a roadmap on the subject.
